84-year-old local Korean War veteran gets new roof for free – WSOC TV

MORGANTON, NC – He fought for our country and now two organizations are rebuilding a Korean War veteran.

Charles Hall, 84, has lived in the Dysartville Ward for nearly 60 years after serving in the Navy during the Korean War.

Burke County – Purple Heart Homes and K&L Dunrite Roofing and Restoration have partnered with Owens Corning to replace the roof of a veteran who served during the Korean War. The story today on Eyewitness News at noon and at 5pm on Eyewitness News on Channel 9. pic.twitter.com/qEJEDPEQ0c

He showed Channel 9 the water marks on the ceiling in his living room. But when he goes to bed Tuesday night, he doesn’t have to worry about water leaking into his house.

“After meeting Charles and hearing his story and everything he went through, I just feel so good and love what I do more to help someone who deserves it and so much for our country has given, ”said Andrea McMall of K&L Dunrite Roofing.
