Mikey Riedl, a U.S. Navy veteran who served on the battleships USS Iowa and USS Shenandoah, receives a new roof from Total Home Roofing, an Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Contractor, Thursday, November 7th.

This nationwide effort is a way of showing gratitude and honor to the veterans who have served our country and the families who support them. Since the Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project started in 2016, more than 140 service members have received new roofs.

Mr. Riedl works as a consultant for a local helpline service for veterans and is also a certified dog trainer. Many of his German Shepherds are donated to Veteran Service Dog units.

“Mr. Riedl has a long history of putting others first and making sacrifices for the good of our country,” said Dan Reed, President of Total Home Roofing.

“We are honored to be part of the Roof Deployment Project, to give something back to Mr. Riedl and to show how much our community values his service.”

“Mr. Riedl has a long history of putting others first and making sacrifices for the good of our country,” said Dan Reed, President of Total Home Roofing.

Owens Corning Roofing and its network of platinum independent contractors, with support from the Owens Corning Foundation, are donating roofing materials and labor to replace roofing shingles in homes of military veterans and their families across the country.

Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity in Brevard County, Mr. Riedl was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.

“We are proud to support the Roof Deployment Project, an inspiring initiative that does so much for veterans in need in communities across the country,” said Tom Clifford, neighborhood revitalization coordinator for Habitat for Humanity in Brevard County. “We are proud to see a local company, Total Home Roofing, step in and donate a day of work to the cause.”
