Customers surprise longtime Missouri UPS driver with check for new roof | FOX 4 Kansas City WDAF-TV

CLAYTON, MO. – Residents on the route of a long-time United Parcel Service driver from St. Louis surprised them with a check for a new roof.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Carolyn Crump initially returned to the neighborhood on Friday after being told that a package was missing. Instead, she was led blindfolded to Concordia Park, where more than 60 of her customers – and their dogs – were waiting.

The huge check she received said “Happy Birthday”. Crump’s birthday is Monday. She joked that if she had known of the surprise she would have brought her entire canister of dog treats.

Jason Lehtman helped organize a GoFundMe after Crump mentioned she wanted a new roof next summer. Lehtman works in the roof area, so he had a member of staff make a cost estimate.

The news spread quickly, and several thousand dollars were raised in about two days.
