Huntsman Building Solutions Introduces CEU Courses on Spray Foam Continuous Insulation, Roofing Applications

Huntsman Building Solutions announced the launch of two new courses for design professionals. The advanced training courses “Spraying Polyurethane Foam as a Continuous Insulation Solution (CI)” and “Improving Roof Performance with Spray Foam Insulation” are both available through Architectural Recordmagazine’s Continuing Education Center. Each course is a nano credit offering where participants who complete one receive 0.5 CEU credits.

“Huntsman Building Solutions is committed to providing high quality training that delivers and ensures the highest performance of our products,” said Doug Brady, vice president of global innovation and product management, Huntsman Building Solutions. “These mobile-friendly on-demand courses are designed to provide knowledge on two of the most important topics related to polyurethane spray foam and to give architects the opportunity to continue their education while working from home or sitting in a parking lot somewhere in a waiting room. “

The first offering, “Polyurethane Spray Foam as Continuous Insulation (CI)” provides instructions and knowledge of the properties, benefits and benefits of closed cell spray foam when used as a CI. After completing this course, architects will be able to define both types of foam insulation products – polyurethane spray foam (SPF) and rigid foam board – that will be used for the application of outdoor CI projects. Understand the installation and performance advantages of SPF over foam board; To study the use of SPF to achieve multiple performance characteristics in a product, including resistance to heat, air and water; and recognize the installed cost advantages of SPF compared to rigid foam board.

The second offering, “Improving roof performance through spray foam insulation”, provides an overview of the thermal performance benefits of spray foam roofs as well as specific applications for the material. Participants in this course will learn how spray foam differs from traditional roofing products. the main advantages of specifying spray foam roofs for new buildings; Features of the solution and why it makes sense to save roofs with spray foam; and the importance of certified and well-trained installers.

Both courses are available to architects free of charge and are registered with AIA CES for professional development. Credits earned after completing each course will be reported to AIA CES for AIA members. Completion certificates for AEI members and non-members are available on request.
