QUAKERTOWN – Kulp Roofing and Construction LLC, a Bucks County-based roofing company, is looking for a family with a roof that needs replacing.
Nominations for the roof replacement program “Kulp Gives Back” will be accepted until May 31st. The winner will receive a roof replacement and a gutter installation – including a leaf protection system – free of charge for the family.
To qualify for the new roof, the candidate must reside in the eight county service area of Kulp Roofing, which includes Bucks, Berks, Montgomery, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton and Schuylkill counties. Participants can nominate someone they know or they can nominate themselves.
“2020 was a difficult year as the pandemic affected everyone in our community, including us. As a locally owned and operated company, we felt it was important to give back to the communities that support us, ”said Ryan Hogan, sales and marketing manager for Kulp Roofing and Construction Inc., adding that this is the first time is that Kulp Roofing is offering an initiative like this.
Nominations must be submitted using the Kulp Roofing online nomination form. The nomination form will include the nominee’s name, nominee, nominee address, nominator contact information, and a description of why the nominee should get a new roof.
The contributions must explain why the family deserves a new roof and gutter replacement.
Hogan said the company is looking for a compelling story. He said the final decision will be difficult based on the nominations he’s already seen.
The company accepted nominations on April 19, and on Monday, April 26, Hogan said it had received more than 15 nominations.
“I will consider it a success when a needy family gets something they need,” said Hogan. He added that he would be “thrilled” to receive 50 nominations.
“The bottom line is that our company gives something back to the community that has supported us over the years. Ultimately, it’s about giving back to a family – we never know when we might need it, “he added.
Hogan said the assessment will be carried out by Kulp Roofing and Construction employees and, according to the rules, will take place between June 1st and June 11th. The winner will be selected on June 14th.
The roof replacement is expected to be completed by October 31, “before the cold weather sets in,” said Hogan, adding that materials will be donated by Kulp partners: GAF, Service Partner, Leaf Relief by PlyGem, Adams Outdoor, iHeart Media, Lehigh Valley with Love Media and Sarott Design. The work for the roof project is donated by Kulp Roofing.
