NEW AMERICAN BRASSERIE THE GRAMERCY OPENS ON CORAL GABLES MIRACLE MILE IN DECEMBER 2020

Today The Gramercy, a great and vibrant new American brasserie, officially makes its debut in Coral Gables. The name of the restaurant and bar hints at the enduring style and charm of the Big Apple. The Gramercy presents lavish American brasserie cuisine that is perfectly prepared, as well as a sushi bar in a lively Beaux Arts setting.

The ideal meeting place for Miami’s business and social life, The Gramercy is located in the former Tarpon Bend room, now remodeled by the team behind Kiki on The River. From a power lunch to sociable cocktails to dinner, the Miracle Mile Spot caters to the community’s culinary needs from noon until the end of the evening.

Designed by Mark Lehmkuhl of the Ghost House Creative Group, the space contains the unique imprint he left on Jones’ other establishments such as Kiki on the River and El Santo on Calle Ocho. The interior is reminiscent of New York power dining rooms like The Waldorf and Grand Central, with hints of tall pillars, large cubicles, exposed brick, velvet banquets, and French tiles, and premium oak floors. A check-in counter with keys greets guests, as does a neon sign saying “Heartbreak Hotel” and an elevator to nowhere as a photo opponent when “checking in”.

The dishes focus on brasserie classics brought to life with a contemporary twist. East and west coast oysters, truffle caviar devil’s eggs, and tartare round off the starters, which also include a shaved artichoke salad and jumbo shrimp cocktail. Among the heartier items is the burger “The Gram,” which is made from a 9-ounce Waygu beef patty, Maytag blue cheese, caramelized onion, and frisee on a potato bun, while the “Faberge Potato with Caviar” is a loaded variant of one The laden baked potato is topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, butter, creme fraiche, and chives, garnished with caviar. A 16 oz. Prime rib is served with natural au jus and creamy horseradish sauce, and Pan Seared Salmon is served with sorrel cream reduction. For a sweet finish, the massive banana split with banana, ice cream, roasted nuts, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and maraschino cherries is convincing.

A small sushi bar under the direction of head chef Sylvio Richardson, formerly Nobu, serves creative maki rolls such as “The Gram” rolls with hamachi, salmon, tuna, avocado, crab, masago and spring onions, creamy jalapeno sauce and salmon caviar Roll consisting of salmon, caviar and yuzu den miso sauce drizzled with truffle oil. The Wagyu rolls “Surf and Turf” made from sliced Wagyu, lobster, avocado, cucumber and serrano pepper are a must.

Signature drinks are carefully mixed and are inspired by the classics. From the “Creme De La Creme” made from vodka, coconut liqueur, wormwood and a watermelon ice cube to the “Smoke & Mirrors” with rye whiskey, Montenegro Amaro, Zynar, orange bitters and truffle tincture to the “Savvy Botanist” made from gin, green chartreuse, pineapple Blueberry Syrup, Dill and Lime The cocktails are a combination of creative new preparations and updated classics. A comprehensive wine program offers a robust selection of wines from the glass and bottle selection from established and ultra-modern wineries.
