MINE HILL, NJ (CBSNewYork) – A New Jersey health worker received much-needed help at her home.

Patricia Lopez needed a new roof on her Mine Hill home.

Lopez is a nurse at a Morris County hospital. She helped fight the coronavirus last year and raised her son on her own.

After hearing their story, Parsippany-based roofing company GAF worked with Morris Habitat for Humanity to install a new roof.

GAF made workers from its roofing academy available.

“Not only do we have this experience, you know, practical experience, but we are also helping someone at the same time. It’s amazing to do something like this for someone who helps everyone every day, ”said Joel Santos, student at the Roofing Academy.
