No major injuries reported at Grand Forks house fire Saturday night

April 4 – No major injuries were reported in a house fire in Grand Forks on Saturday night.

The crews were called to a house on the 1100 block of Hammerling Avenue on Saturday, April 3, at around 9:11 p.m. to report a structural fire.

Firefighters arrived on site and found fire and smoke in the back of the house as well as on the roof. The crews put out the fire outside and in the attic.

The structure suffered significant fire damage in the affected areas and is valued at over $ 50,000.

The cause of the fire is being investigated and the inmates have been evicted from their home.

The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, a truck and a command vehicle with 17 employees. One inmate suffered minor heat injuries and was examined by local medical personnel but was not taken to hospital.

GFFD was supported by the Grand Forks Police Department, Altru Ambulance and Xcel Energy.
