The North Cowichan Council has approved the Fuller Lake Re-Roofing Capital Project before budget. The aim is to complete the project in 2021 to limit the disruption to programming and services.
The total cost of the project is $ 870,000. The council agreed to fund the project with $ 150,000 from general income and $ 720,000 from the Infrastructure Replacement Reserve Fund.
An application for grant funding for the project was denied. The funds available for grants were already exhausted.
The current arena roof was installed in 1991 and has exceeded its service life.
