LIBERTY TWP., Ohio (WYTV) – A roofing company in Liberty Township helped two local charities helping those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic while supporting local businesses.

This week’s Hometown Heroes are the employees of TEMA Roofing.

Justin Froelich is Vice President of Sales at TEMA Roofing. To set an example for his co-workers and family, he wanted his company to stand up for community support.

“It is important to me to raise my children and run a successful business in the valley that you have to give back, you have to improve. When you are needed, you have to be there and go beyond anything – service to yourself, ”Froelich said.

Froelich joined the “Shop Local, Give Hope!” Campaign to help the community support local businesses.

“I said get in touch and it was a hit. It worked great. That got the community involved, got people shopping and the more they spent, the more we spent and it went for a great cause, ”said Froelich.

TEMA matched the money raised through the campaign for local charities.

“Anyone who has bought a gift certificate from a local family business, be it a restaurant, store or clothing department, we’ve reached a certain amount,” Froelich said.

TEMA then decided to give the proceeds from the Shop Local, Give Hope! Campaign for the Salvation Army and the Mahoning Valley Second Harvest Food Bank for helping those most injured by the pandemic.

“They’re local, they do a lot, especially with the pandemic right now. I think they made great strides in the church when they needed them most, ”Froelich said.

Froelich hopes others will step in to help someone else in the future.

“I say it all the time – if we don’t help each other, no one will. So that’s the least we can do, ”he said.
