A manufacturer of roofs, siding and other building materials plans to build a new manufacturing facility in southeast Pennsylvania, state officials said.
CertainTeed, a Malvern, Pennsylvania-based subsidiary of the French materials giant Saint-Gobain, will invest around $ 8 million in the new location in Quakertown. Officials expect the project to create 45 new jobs over the next three years and help maintain more than 500 CertainTeed jobs across Pennsylvania.
The factory will be the first CertainTeed facility to produce the company’s STONEfaçade material. Company officials said the concrete-made stone veneer system can be installed by a traditional vinyl siding company without the need for special equipment or masonry.
The location will enable CertainTeed to increase its production capacity for STONEfaçade by a factor of ten.
“We are excited to bring our new STONEfaçade products to more customers across the country and appreciate the continued interest and support from our home state of Pennsylvania company,” said Joe Bondi, vice president and general manager of The Siding Group of CertainTeed said in a statement. “We are excited about the future of this innovative, groundbreaking, American-made product.”
The company is eligible for a $ 200,000 government grant, $ 90,000 government tax credits based on job creation, and $ 22,200 to fund staff training.
