Shamrock Roofing provides Navy vet with new roof

KANSAS CITY, MO – A 79-year-old Navy veteran recently got a new roof on her home thanks to a Lenexa construction company.

Shamrock Roofing and Construction announced Tuesday that Regina Carey was the winner of their Roof for a Hero competition.

“I was thinking about going to assisted living or something, but I stayed here for a variety of reasons,” said Carey, “and I thought,” Well, I don’t know how much longer I can stay. ‘I had to change the stove and the air, and the roof had to come next because it’s getting pretty old. “

Carey’s daughter entered her mother’s name for the competition.

The Navy veteran’s family said they were grateful to have one less obstacle preventing Carey from staying at home.

The competition began in 2017 as a way for shamrock roofing to honor veterans and first responders.
