Summer Baseball: Rohl Roofing sweeps Montesano in doubleheader | Baseball

“For some reason we just love to make things interesting in the end,” said Margaris.

The fourth inning proved to be a breakthrough for both teams, but LCBC swung the bigger stick. LCBC rattled off seven runs in the top of the frame when Dominic Curl got away with the biggest swing of the game, a three-run home run down the left field line that proved enough to make all the difference for LCBC.

Montesano responded with only two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth, while Wheatley ended things in the fifth.

Curl finished 1-for-2 to lead LCBC on the plate with the big 3-run homer. Canyon Rader also put together a nice day on the record and finished it off with an RBI 2 to 3.

Game 2 lasted the full seven innings, but LCBC managed to score the same result with a 9-5 win. Margaris said his team followed his call to action ahead of the game.

“I challenged them every now and then to try and see if we could flip this script and start from pitch one and put pressure on early and finish a game,” he said. “They obviously responded great because we ran three runs in both the first and second innings and we just kept the momentum and carried it through the game.”

After being scoreless for the first three innings of Game 1, LCBC scored most of their points in the first three frames of Game 2 by overshooting eight runs.
